Our history

Johanna’s Education and Counseling Center (JECC)

Founded in July 2004, Johanna’s Education and Counseling Center (JECC) is a child-focused, family-centered organization dedicated to helping individuals realize their full potential. The name Johanna—a Swahili word meaning “God’s gift”—reflects our belief that every person is born with unique gifts and talents designed to fulfill a meaningful purpose in life. However, life’s challenges can often obscure this potential. At JECC, our team is committed to empowering individuals through counseling, coaching, and education—supporting healing, growth, and the pursuit of purpose.

Personalized Help, Holistic Approach

JECC Philosophy

JECC’s staff work from a strength based perspective recognizing the potential in everyone. Comprehensive and relevant services  are provided based on the client’s partnership and desired outcomes. The client’s physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health; along with their community context, are paramount in understanding the needs of the client and working towards resolutions. A crisis is viewed as a teachable moment and “one size” does not fit all; interventions are tailored to meet the individual needs of all who are served.
